About the FoundationLibrary Foundation Board
Mr. Bossung is Sales Vice President of AT&T Business Services. He leads the company's regional sales organization, made up of more than 50 sales and technical professionals who provide a full range of business communications services, including data, Internet access and hosting; local, long-distance and international calling; consulting and wireless services. Mr. Bossung's organization generates over $175 million in annual revenue by serving the networking needs of mid-sized and large business. Under his leadership, the organization has continued to achieve market-share gains while improving customer and employee satisfaction levels. A 23-year veteran of the company, Mr. Bossung has held a series of assignments in sales, marketing, finance and customer service. Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Bossung was a CPA for Price Waterhouse. He holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Accounting. He also serves on the board of the Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS) Program at Ball State University.Mr. Bossung is an avid reader, runner and golfer. He and his wife, Sherrie, have three sons and reside in Indianapolis.
Laura Bramble is the Chief Executive Officer for the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. She earned her B. A. from the University of Wisconsin and her M.S. in Library Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has 35 years experience working in academic, public and special libraries. Laura's experience in libraries has included reference work in public libraries; serving as executive director of a library cooperative and as director of a medium-sized public library in a suburban setting.
Mr. Brody is President & CEO of St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers. He has over 25 years of experience in health care administration. Mr. Brody received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College and his Masters of Health Administration from Duke University. In addition to serving on the Library Foundation Board, Mr. Brody also serves on the Boards of the St. Francis Healthcare Foundation, the St. Francis Health Network, the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, the Catholic Community Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees and the Sycamore School. Mr. Brody and his wife, Helen, have a son and two daughters.
Mr. Cohen is an Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Finish Line, Inc. in Indianapolis, Man Alive, Inc., and Paiva, Inc. The Company operates more than 699 Finish Line stores in 48 states, 94 Man Alive, Inc. stores, and 15 Paiva, Inc. stores. His primary responsibilities include management and supervision of legal/lease administration, corporate governance and compliance, and human resource and payroll departments. He is responsible for all real estate, legal and employee matters. Mr. Cohen also sits on the board of the Finish Line Youth Foundation. Prior to joining The Finish Line, Inc. he was the senior partner in the Indianapolis law firm of Cohen and Morelock, where his practice concentrated in the areas of commercial collection, corporate law, mediation and real estate law. Mr. Cohen still maintains an “of counsel” status with the firm Brand Davis Elsea & Morelock. He is presently a member of the American Bar Association, the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar Associations, National Retail Tenants Association, and International Council of Shopping Centers. He is an Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) board member and a member of ACC’s Indiana chapter. He is on the Board of Directors and Board Development Committee of the Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis. Mr. Cohen is a member of the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation Board, sits on the Indiana Pacer Foundation Board, is a member of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law Board of Advisors, and is on the Advisory Board of the Law Department Purchasing Consortium. Mr. Cohen recently was asked to sit on the Community Hospital Foundation Board in Indianapolis. Mr. Cohen holds an Indiana Real Estate Broker’s License and has been a panelist or speaker at national retail and legal conferences, along with authoring numerous articles on different aspects of the in-house legal environment. He received his B. S. from Indiana University and his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University.
Mr. Cohen is the Managing Director of Stifel Nicolaus. He was previously a partner with one of Indiana's largest law firms and represented many prominent individuals and private and public corporations. Mr. Cohen holds Series 7 and 63 Securities licenses and is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Indiana University and serves as Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee for Indiana University. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Park Tudor School as well as cochairman for their capital campaign, and a member of the Board for the Jewish Federation. He is a former member of the American, Indiana, and Indianapolis Bar Associations, VEI (a subsidiary of Community Hospital), and of the Marion County Judicial Nominating Commission. He was recognized in 1999 by the Indianapolis Business Journal as a member of the "40 Under 40." This award recognizes 40 Indianapolis-area residents who have made their mark on the city before reaching their 40th birthday.Upon graduating from Indiana University (Bloomington) School of Law, Mr. Cohen was an associate attorney at a major Indianapolis law firm. In addition to his Juris Doctorate, he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Indiana University (Bloomington). He attended Indiana University on an athletic scholarship and was a four-year letterman on the tennis team.
Danny Dean has been the President of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library Foundation since November of 1992. Prior to his position with the Library Foundation, he was Assistant Dean and Director of Development at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Mr. Dean currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation. He is a member of the American Library Association and has served as president of the Indiana State University Alumni Council. He is a former Board member of the Indiana Council of Fundraising Executives and served as President of the Indiana Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. Mr. Dean is a graduate of Indiana State University. He earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from ISU.
Mr. Farmer is a Certified Public Accountant and a director of Alerding & Co., LLC. He has 18 years experience in public accounting. Prior to the formation of Alerding & Co. in May 1998, he was a manager of a regional accounting firm for eight years in the Audit and Accounting Department. Mr. Farmer's area of focus is serving closely held companies and not-for-profit organizations with accounting, corporate structure, financing, capitalization, and operational issues. Additionally, he serves as a guest instructor for local universities, professional societies, and commercial lending groups of financial institutions. Within Alerding & Co., Mr. Farmer serves as Secretary and Co-Treasurer, and is the Director primarily responsible for quality control, implementing new accounting and auditing standards, and addressing emerging issues within the profession.
Julie Goodrich is serving as EX-OFFICIO on the I-MCPL Foundation's Advisory Committee, and is the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors. A native of Indianapolis, Julie attended Broad Ripple High School, DePauw University, and the American Graduate School of International Management. After a career of over 10 years in the international marketing and product management fields, she "retired" to do freelance marketing consulting, teach conversational French, raise her family and volunteer in the community. She has served on the boards of the Mental Health Association of Marion County, the Junior League of Indianapolis, the Indiana State Symphony Society, the DePauw Alumni Association, the Humane Society of Indianapolis, the Parent Teacher Organizations of her children's schools in Washington Township, and the Washington Township Schools Foundation. She has also been involved with The Children's Museum and the Indianapolis Garden Club. Julie is married to husband David and they have two children. She enjoys books, travel, tennis, golf, and horseback riding, as well as the study of foreign languages.

Mr. Hutchinson received a B.A. from DePauw University in 1993, received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1996, and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1996. He is a partner with the law firm of Krieg Devault, LLP where he is a member of the firm's Health Care and Business Practice Groups, and is Chair of the firm's Nonprofit Practice Group. Mr. Hutchinson regularly advises nonprofits and health care providers on a variety of topics, including "best practices" in governance, intermediate sanctions compliance, and the start-up, ongoing operation, and sale of ambulatory surgery centers, private and hospital-owned medical practices, and other physician ventures. He also regularly advises clients on health care regulatory matters, including compliance with the Stark law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the numerous other laws affecting health care providers. Mr. Hutchinson represents organizations including hospitals, multi-hospital systems, continuing care retirement communities, physician practices, and physician-owned and joint ventured ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, and cancer centers. Mr. Hutchinson is a frequent speaker on legal topics affecting nonprofit and other health care providers. Nathaniel Jones is the superintendent of schools for the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township. He is the first African American to hold the post. Superintendent Jones began his career in education 32 years ago as an elementary school teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools. He served 25 years in administration for the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township. Superintendent Jones served as an assistant principal, principal, director of elementary education, and as superintendent for instruction, grades K-12. He also serves as the educational consultant for both Eastern Star (Jewel Academy) and Light of the World Christian Church (Respect Academy). He has received the following honors: the Education of the Year Award, the Center for Leadership Development Award and Administrator of the Year for the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township. He has also received the $25,000 National Milken Educator Award, appointment in the 100 Top Executives in North America, and the State of Indiana Sagamore of the Wabash.
Greg Jordan began his public service career in 1982 in the Marion County Treasurer's office. In 1996 he was elected to his first term as Treasurer and was re-elected in 2000. He was the Republican candidate for Mayor of Indianapolis in 2003. During his tenure as Treasurer, Mr. Jordan was active in both the Indiana County Treasurers' Association (ICTA) and the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC). He served as President of the ICTA in 2002; he was twice elected by his peers as the Outstanding County Treasurer; and in 2004 he received the Arthur R. Himsel Award for outstanding service to local government. Mr. Jordan is the Senior Vice-President of Indiana Operations for Government Utilities Technology Service, a consulting and technology company that serves county government and utilities. Mr. Jordan has a B.S. degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He and his wife, Rosemary, reside in Washington Township and both sing in the choir at North United Methodist Church. They have two adult children, Michael and Jennifer. He has received the following honors: the Education of the Year Award, the Center for Leadership Development Award and Administrator of the Year for the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township. Thea E. Kelly, Counsel, is a senior operations attorney with Dow AgroSciences LLC, a division of the Dow Chemical Company. In that role, Ms. Kelly is a transactional attorney responsible for North America and global manufacturing, supply chain and environmental units. Ms. Kelly prepares, negotiates and assists in consummation of transaction matters and contracts to assess and mitigate risk. Ms. Kelly also leads and coordinates the legal activities pertaining to regulatory matters. Ms. Kelly counsels and defends clients against regulatory agencies, regularly negotiating with the Federal EPA, DOT and State environmental departments. Prior to joining Dow, Ms. Kelly was a tax attorney at Ice Miller, LLP. Ms. Kelly is a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association and has been a presenter for the Marion County Bar Association for Indiana CLE credit. Ms. Kelly earned her JD from Indiana University-Indianapolis, her Masters degree (MPA) in SPEA from Indiana University and her Bachelors degree (BA Business) from Michigan State University. Ms. Kelly has considerable community involvement which includes currently serving as a board member with the Fay Biccard Glick Family Neighborhood Center (formerly the Crooked Creek Multi Service Center,) past Vice President and with the Indianapolis Chapter of the YWCA. Ms. Kelly has served with the Stacey Toran Foundation, The Indiana Child Care Fund, Girl Scouts of Hoosier Capital Council and the Family Service Association of Central Indiana. Prior to law school, Ms. Kelly was an accountant for 10 years. Ms. Kelly has a son and daughter and is a professional model.
Mr. Nelson is Director of Public Affairs for Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. He has more than 20 years of public relations experience with the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, The American Legion, the Hudson Institute, and the U.S. Army. He is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America and holds the Certified Association Executive designation from the American Society of Association Executives. He teaches graduate and undergraduate public relations courses at IUPUI and Ball State University. He served with the 1st Armored Division in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He earned a BA in English from The Citadel and an MA in Public Relations from Ball State University. He is the author of "Big Foot Stalks The Citadel," which appeared in The Citadel Cadet Stories 1964-1994. Rick and his wife, Judy, have one son and one daughter and reside in Indianapolis.
Mr. Qualkinbush is a partner in Barnes & Thornburg’s Indianapolis office and concentrates his practice in the area of municipal finance. He serves as bond counsel and counsel to national, regional, and local underwriters in a wide variety of tax-exempt financings involving governmental units within Indiana. From 1995-1999, he served as bond counsel to the City of Indianapolis for various bond issues totaling more than $1,000,000,000, including financings for the Conseco Fieldhouse, the RCA Dome, and Circle Centre Mall. Mr. Qualkinbush has a particular emphasis in tax-exempt lease-financings by local school corporations and other government entities. Examples in which he has served as bond counsel include financings for School Town of Munster, M.S.D. of Warren Township, M.S.D. of Pike Township, Jennings County School Corporation, Tipton Community School Corporation, Crawford Community School Corporation, Fort Wayne Community Schools, Linton-Stockton School Corporation, and Allen County Public Library. Mr. Qualkinbush is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Indiana Association of School Business Officials, the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents, the Indiana School Boards Association, and the Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association. He serves on the Finance Research Committee of the Indiana Association of School Business Officials and has spoken extensively on various municipal finance and school finance issues, including Indiana’s petition-remonstrance and objection processes. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1991. He earned a B.A. degree magna cum laude and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, in 1988. Mr. Qualkinbush is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana.
Mr. Sponsel is President of RJE Business Interiors. He has spent over 30 years in the office furniture industry. Mr. Sponsel is a native of Indianapolis and attended IUPUI in the School of Business. Mr. Sponsel also serves on the Board of Rotary Club of Indianapolis, Chair of the 2007 United Way of Central Indiana Campaign, IUPUI School of Engineering Board of Advisors, Catholic Community Foundation Development Committee, Knoll National Advisory Council, IUPUI Community Library, Indianapolis Downtown, Inc., and Catholic Archdiocese Inner City Schools Consortium. He and his wife, Cathy, have four children and three grandchildren.
Mr. Weiss is a Partner with Ice Miller, where his primary practice concentration is in real estate development, finance and taxation. He is a frequent speaker with the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum and the Cambridge Institute on such topics as real estate development, finance and taxation, as well as architect's agreements, construction contracts, mechanic's liens, mortgage foreclosure, eminent domain, zoning and other land use issues. Mr. Weiss is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He is also a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana State and American Bar Associations. Further, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Public Accountants. Mr. Weiss is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of The Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis, Inc. Mr. Weiss was raised in South Bend, Indiana, and attended Indiana University, Bloomington where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business (Accounting) in 1979. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University - Bloomington where he graduated in 1983. He became a certified Public Accountant in 1980. Between undergraduate and law school, Zeff worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Price Waterhouse in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He joined Ice Miller in 1983 after graduating from law school.
Susan Brock Williams is the Legislative Initiative Director for Purdue University, representing the institution before the Indiana General Assembly and state government. Ms. Williams received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Purdue University in 1990 and her law degree from Indiana University – Indianapolis in 1994. Upon graduation from Purdue, Ms. Williams served as a Governor’s Fellow in the Bayh administration and went on to serve in state government as Manager for Legislative and Congressional Affairs for the State Emergency Management Agency/Department of Fire and Building Services and Legislative Director for Attorney General Pam Carter. Ms. Williams spent six years as the Director – State Government Relations for Ameritech Indiana (now AT&T). She and her husband, Brian, have three children. Ms. Williams was a member of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, Class XX and was honored as a "Forty under 40" recipient in 2005. She is a current or former board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Lacy Leadership Association, the Washington Township Fire Merit Commission and has volunteered with Meals on Wheels, St. Thomas Aquinas Church and School, the International Violin Competition, and the Indiana Leadership Summit.
Mr. Wilson is responsible for trust administration in the Private Client Services division of JPMorgan Chase in Indianapolis and has served in a number of management capacities at the Bank. He is a graduate of Indiana University School of Business and Indiana University Law School-Indianapolis. He has written papers and lectured on the subjects of estate planning and administration. Topics have included: Trust Drafting Considerations, Funding Techniques for Family and Marital Trusts, Gifts to Minors, and The Use of Incentive Trusts. Mr. Wilson is also on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Repertory Theatre. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Eiteljorg Museum Planned Giving Council and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. His wife, Margaret, is a counselor at Sheridan High School. Their daughter, Maureen, attends Xavier University in Ohio. He plays golf and tennis, and enjoys travel. |
